Solutions-first thinking however, is what got us into some of this pickle in the first place. Whether it’s AI, a hot new incident management model, or the latest snazzy tool, we’ve all got to spend more time thinking about the problem than the latest shiny thing.

Despite her first job being in a candle factory, Izzi is not a transplant from the 1800s. She plies her trade managing a team of brilliant incident responders and occasionally getting on the tools herself at a tech company, but she started out as a comms specialist. As the old saying goes, you can take the girl out of comms, but you definitely can’t take the comms out of the girl. Despite spending most of her career around things catching fire, Izzi usually isn’t the one setting them.
