Sponsors
Kawaiicon is bred from the blood, sweat, tears, and glitter of the Crüe and volunteers. And when that form of currency is not accepted by our vendors, we turn to our incredible sponsors. They have generously endowed us with enough cash so you don’t have to.
Nudibranch: Nembrotha Kubaryana
The Nembrotha Kubaryana is a Nudibranch species that occurs in the tropical Western Indo-Pacific. It closely follows the colour scheme of early UNIX terminals and hacker’s X-Terminals. This sponsorship goes towards design and merch funding. We hire local NZ designers to help us with the conference theme and website, to make sure it gives us that ‘infosec yet cute’ feel.

Nudibranch: Glaucus Marginatus
Glaucus Marginatus is commonly known as a blue dragon and looks like something out of yet-another James Cameron’esque science fiction movie. This sponsorship help us pay for satellite events (like the Girl Geek Dinner) and helps us keep our ticket prices cheap as chips.

Bringing the con to life
Running a con means we set out with big dreams and goals, and when we see our bank balance we cry a little and figure out how to scale it back. The sponsors below decided “to heck with that” and decided to give us sponsorship to fund things that they think is important, and we do too.
